We regulate through connection
Nervous System Regulation Course for Parents & Carers
This seven-week nervous system regulation course for parents is designed to give you a greater understanding of what is happening within your own nervous system, how stress can affect the way you respond, and how greater awareness and regulation can support co-regulation with your child.
The course combines accessible theory with practical tools and reflection, helping you develop a greater sense of choice in how you respond during the moments that can feel hardest.
Each session is 15-20 minutes, pre-recorded, and available to watch whenever suits you, in your own time.
Only £29 for the full seven-week programme.
What The 7 Weeks Look Like
The course unfolds over seven weeks, with each session building your understanding of yourself, your nervous system and your relationship with your child.
Week 1 — Begin by understanding your own nervous system, how stress can affect the way you think and respond, and the foundations for developing greater regulation and capacity.
Week 2 — Explore what happens to us during and after stressful experiences, and begin to understand how the body can respond to pressure in ways we don’t always consciously notice.
Week 3 — Look at the importance of connection in relationships and how our own state can influence the way we meet our children during difficult moments.
Week 4 — Explore the relationship between thoughts, attention and awareness, and develop ways of creating more space around the thoughts that can otherwise take over.
Week 5 — Discover how familiar patterns develop over time and what it means to begin creating new ones, with greater awareness of the signals coming from your body.
Week 6 — Turn your attention more deeply towards your body’s messages, developing a greater understanding of stress, capacity and the things that can influence how we respond.
Week 7 — Bonus Session — Supporting Your Child Through Anxiety: Learn about family accommodation and the avoidance cycle, and how well-meaning reassurance can unintentionally keep a child’s anxiety going. They’re introduced to Name It, Acknowledge It, Soothe It, and to planning small, proportionate steps that help a child face fear rather than avoid it.
Why This Matters at Home Too
Children are deeply influenced by the relationships and environments around them. As parents and carers, we don’t need to have all the answers or remain calm all the time, but understanding our own responses — and practising emotional regulation for children alongside our own — can change the way we meet our children when things become difficult.
This course is an opportunity to pause, understand what is happening beneath the surface and develop greater capacity for yourself, while exploring your child’s developing brain, emotional needs and the importance of connection.
It isn’t about fixing your child or becoming a perfectly calm parent. It’s about understanding yourself, understanding your child and having more choice in how you respond.
Who Is This For?
Any parent or carer, whatever your child’s age or school stage. You don’t need any experience of breathwork, mindfulness or therapy. Everything is explained simply and built up gradually, week by week.
You also don’t need to worry that you’re already “behind” or doing something wrong. This isn’t about fixing anything. It’s about understanding something most of us were never taught, so you can recognise what is happening in your own nervous system, build greater capacity and have practical tools for the moments that are genuinely hard.
Why Is There a Small Fee?
The Calm Coach children’s and staff programmes are completely free for UK schools.
The £29 Parents & Carers course gives you access to this separate seven-week programme for adults, while helping me continue developing Calm Coach and keeping nervous system education freely available to more children and school staff across the UK.
Your £29 helps support the free provision.
